~/why-now

The talent is here. Finding it still means asking around.

There has never been more developer talent, or a worse way to find it. Craftfolio exists to fix the moment we are in: real builders and real communities, scattered across platforms that were never built to make them discoverable.

~/the-problem

A fragmented, inefficient ecosystem

Communities and developer networks live everywhere at once: Discord, Telegram, GitHub, X, Meetup. There is no single hub that shows who is active, what is happening, or where to find collaborators.

Developers cannot easily find communities that match their skills or region. Communities lack visibility, structured profiles, and any real analytics. And project founders struggle to find reliable developers, while capable developers sit undiscoverable in plain sight.

the referral tax

“Hey, can you link me with a good Starknet developer?”
This is how hiring still works in most ecosystems. It runs on who you happen to know, not on who is actually the best fit, and it quietly locks out everyone outside the group chat.

~/the-shift

Why the timing is right

Three shifts are landing at once, and together they make a verified discovery layer both possible and overdue.

Regional developer booms are here

Africa and Latin America are minting talent faster than anyone can track. The people exist and the skills are real, but there is no map to find them.

Ecosystems moved from hype to hiring

Chains like Ethereum, Solana, and Starknet now need real builders in specific regions. Generic profiles cannot answer questions like who ships Starknet contracts and is open to work.

Trust needs to be verifiable

Self-reported skills and follower counts no longer cut it. Activity, contributions, and community reputation can now back a claim with data instead of vibes.

~/the-opportunity

The discovery layer that should already exist

GitHub, Devpost, Luma, and LinkedIn each solve one slice and none of them are ecosystem-aware or built on trust. Craftfolio closes the gap by aggregating profiles, community pages, and trust signals into one searchable, verified network.

  • 01Search developers and communities by stack, chain, and region
  • 02Verified skills and activity, not self-reported claims
  • 03Structured community pages with events, jobs, and newsletters
  • 04Availability signals, so founders reach people open to work
  • 05Regional visibility for local dev hubs and meetups
  • 06One reputation graph where community activity earns credibility
